Typical Vertical Mass as Depiction of the Dada Baargeld

The collage from Johann Theodor Baargeld (9 October 1892 – 16 or 17 August 1927) is called „typical vertical mass as a depiction of the dada baargeld“. It was created in 1920. It is in the public domain and can be re-used for free.

Baargeld used a printed page from a book depicting a photograph of «aphrodite», the so called «venus de milo» from musée de louvre, combined with a self portrait presumably in army uniform (with sliced off officers cap), the fabric covered rectangle below is also a photograph.

Photomontage with brown toned silver gelatin photographic prints and screen printing, with retouches on yellowish light cardboard, 37.1 x 31 cm
Shown are a bust, a portrait of the artist and a table.
