Cho Linska

cho_linska_arpgut Cho Linska was born in Warsaw, Poland in 1973. She graduated from Zurich’s School of Art and Design in 2001 and currently lives and works in Zurich, Switzerland.

Cho Linska uses all kinds of analogue and digital techniques. Ink or charcoal drawings are combined with different kinds of paint- from self made tempera to spraypaint on various supports. Her sculptures are often made of industrial materials, as for example honeycomb board used for wrapping and packaging or as acoustic insulation. The materials are laser cut, based on vector drawings and then painted by hand.

In recent years her playful work often relates to the worlds of comics, street art and character design but also draws inspiration from technology, a realm she interacts with as an active member of the Swiss Mechatronic Art Society and Fablab Zürich.

Cho Linskas drawings, paintings, sculptures and installations have been presented at various exhibitions at festivals and galleries across Switzerland, but also happen to pop up in public space or at self-organized gatherings in a rather subcultural context.
